note to my !statusnet followers: this feed is not longer a subset of my twitter, due to #twitterbridge being abandoned :( alternatives? ):
Monday, 10-Oct-11 22:53:21 IST from wiretapped.status.net at San Francisco, California, United States-
@wiretapped #twitterbridge works for pushing to twitter on your own sn sites. You could also send the feed of sn to twitter or use a client that posts to both.
-
Um, see the "Service status" kinda in the upper right? http://status.net/wiki/Service_status It's been back for a while.
-
Yeah, I'm aware of those options, but neither lets me participate fully in twitter conversations or have first-class retweets archived here.
-
@wiretapped try http://brdcst.it/ I'm using it now. but it's just a one way thing: from sn to twitter
-
The service status page has *said* it was back, but my instance has no twitter settings and I haven't seen twitter import working anywhere.
-
@lohang what are your settings? mine was broadcasting my posts twice in each tweet. Are you just using %t %u ?
-
@wiretapped after some problems #twitterbridge on SN-servers other than identi.ca seems to work at least for @bavatar. please file @bugs ...
-
@parlementum I'm just using %s
-
I don't see any twitter-related settings on my sn cloud instance. What do you mean by "%t %u"?
-
I'll get your twitterbridge set up. It's not abandoned.
-
@wiretapped we are talking about how to use http://ur1.ca/58jgc to send statusnet notices to twitter. Igyou get an account there add yout attom feed and use %s it will take care of the rest
-
@wiretapped (sorry about the typos) we are talking about how to use brdcstit ( http://ur1.ca/5d01a ) to send statusnet notices to twitter. Just get an account there, add yout attom feed and use %s it will take care of the rest. That's what I use for the time being)
-
@evan good to hear! I look forward to it working again
-
@evan thanks very much for saying that. I look forward to see my twitterbridge working again :)
-
external tools like brdcst.it cannot provide the kind of two-way twitter integration that a statusnet plugin can.
-
@wiretapped statusnet cloud sites do not provide a two way twitterbridge. you have to run your own installation of sn to enable the two-way connection
-
Oops, just realized when I said "subset" in my original post today I meant to say SUPERSET - I want twitter to be a subset of my status feed
-
Two-way #twitterbridge was enabled for some statusnet cloud sites like mine; just had to ask them nicely.
-
@lohang well it looks like #twitterbridge can be set up manually on cloudsites: http://evan.status.net/notice/1311973
-
Two-way used to be available on *paid* cloud sites, but it was down more than it was up. cc: @wiretapped
-
@march manually? it is not possible as far as I can see. there is no such option in my settings. but I'm glad that they haven't abandoned it entirely.
-
@lohang #twitterbridge seems rather complex, may i ask you all to contribute your wisdom to http://status.net/wiki/Twitter#overview #wiki
-
@march ah great :) sure, will try my best
march likes this. -
@wiretapped ah, interesting :) in fact I asked, but @support told me to get a paid account. maybe I don't know how to ask nicely :p
-
@lohang Things are more "corporate" now at statusnet.
-
move to free-haven.org or parlementum.net, or some other private SN installation with a twitterbridge? (not sure if parlementum has it working yet)
-
@tonybaldwin it's working on brainbird
-
@lohang when i get off of my lazy butt i will delete my statusnet cloud account and only have !parlementum
-
@tonybaldwin what i am seeing is that many, maybe even most, sites have twitterbridge issues
-
@whistlewright my problem is I am very reculctant to try new things and move to new places...
-
@whistlewright and if I move I want to move my dents too :D Currently I cannot move my data. It's broken.
-
@lohang i don't even like updating computers.
